Info about Oakridge Golf Club
Set in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside Oakridge Golf Club boasts an 18 hole parkland course with over 100 acres of undulating fairways, attentively groomed greens, a backdrop of mighty oaks and a challenge to rival any course.
However it wasn’t always this way, original partners Syd and Sam were born and bred in Arley Village and spent the late 50’s and early 60’s working on the coalface of Arley Colliery, to which the site of Oakridge Golf Club now stands above.
The decision to become a golf club owner came about completely by accident in 1991 when the intention was to buy residential property at auction, however the land which at the time was Brown’s Farm came up as one of the lots and the rest, as they say, is history.
Fast forward two years to April 1993 and the doors were finally ready to open to the public.
"We like to boast that we have created a friendly club. The etiquette on the course is still there but nowadays golf is anyone’s game and we want people to know that’s how we see it here”
Golf has changed beyond recognition and Oakridge pride’s themselves in welcoming with open arms anyone who wants to play golf and everyone gets treated with the same greeting no matter who they are.
