Darwin Lake

Nestled away in the heart of the Peak District, Darwin Lake is a truly magical wedding venue in Derbyshire. Licenced for civil wedding ceremonies, it’s the perfect place to exchange your vows and hold your reception - all in one superb venue.

Our unique and exclusive grounds include a private lake, as well as the charming, stone-built Darwin Hall, which has recently been redesigned to include two large function rooms (with the flexibility to increase to 3 when required). The Hall interior has recently been designed by our interior design architects and presents a unique, high quality venue for your special day.

The hall – which can seat up to 130 people on either floor - sits adjacent to the lawns, which can easily support a large marquee. These run down to the lake and babbling brook.

We also have 17 quaint, four-star, stone-built cottages at Darwin Lake, each with modern interiors and many with recent design by our interior designers. These can accommodate groups from 30 to 110 guests, meaning that you and your guests can all relax in the comfort of our beautiful surroundings for the duration of your wedding.

Set amongst the rolling hills and pine forests above the quaint village of Two Dales, Darwin Lake is three miles from Matlock and just 25 miles from the M1. Our enchanting grounds and contemporary facilities can be booked throughout the year.
