Info about Buckhurst Park
Buckhurst Park is situated in the village of Withyham, midway between Tunbridge Wells and East Grinstead and the M23, just 24 minutes from the M25 and 90 minutes from central London.
The Earl De La Warr and his wife Anne and their family invite you to share their ancestral home on your wedding day.
The Sackville family’s motto “Jour De Ma Vie” translates as “Day of My Life” which is how we hope you will remember the most important day of your lives.
Buckhurst Park, is a much loved family home, perfect to capture the romance of a wedding day.
The lawns in front of the house provide a beautiful site for a marquee, with an unparalleled view over the park and lake and then up to Ashdown Forest with the famous Winnie the Pooh “Hundred Aker” wood.
The gardens, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and planted with help from Gertrude Jekyll, with later advice from Vita Sackville West, a De La Warr cousin, provide a really stunning setting.
Marquees can be set up on the top lawn and guests can enjoy drinks on the terraces or wander among the roses in the sunken garden around the lily pool.
The croquet lawn, situated on a lower terrace and reached by descending the ‘Sea of Steps’, provides the perfect location for more flamboyant marquees.
