The Velcro Turtles

The Velcro Turtles are a sensational five-piece band from Ireland, in the beautifully exquisite setting of Co. Mayo, West Ireland, now based in Oxfordshire, UK. Multi-talented, award-winning musicians they have toured the world and have appeared on over 60 albums, numerous TV and radio shows, and have been the subject of countless media coverage and reviews.
Comprising of hugely talented multi- instrumental players bringing together the fiddle, piano, accordion, banjo, bass guitar, drums and of course vivacious vocals. This ensemble has taken the band across the USA, Europe and the Middle East. Notably representing Ireland & the UK at the ICC Cricket World Cup opening ceremony to a global audience of 2.2 billion, performing alongside a multitude of world class performers and were also spotlighted with dedicated air-time with Sky television.
The band features the lead outstanding talent of the hugely talented John Duffy. He and the band are considered amongst the most talented entertainers/musicians Ireland has ever produced.
John, (Vocals, Keyboards, Accordion, Banjo) is recognised as a master musician and songwriter, starting his professional career at the tender age of 10! One of the best Irish, country, rock and boogie-woogie piano players in Ireland/UK and a ‘All-Ireland’ Champion Accordion player. A highly talented and charismatic performer, his energy and presence lights up any performance ensuring a roaring time had by all!. A former Child prodigy who joined his dads band at the age of eight and recorded his first solo album at the age of twelve (having written the title track). John made his first television appearance at the age of 14. Sought after on both sides of the Atlantic, not only as a performer but a top-session musician. He is an enormously gifted and charmed performer wowing crowds with his electric energy - guaranteeing a foot-stomping good time!
