FAQs

  • Please, describe your act or business in on sentence:

The Empire States are made up of Thomas Mawson and Ollie Simms. With a shared passion for country and folk, these two bring a unique twist to classic tracks we all know and love, as well as modern pop tracks.

  • What are the highlights of your career?

The pair have regularly played at Lush bloggers events and separately, they have played many events across the UK.

  • What is your competitive advantage (special features)?

'We're different! Think of all your favourite songs... they've all been done to death by various wedding singers, but we aim to add our own flair to every track and make it something entirely our own.'

  • What kind of events do you usually serve?

'Weddings corporate events, bars, birthdays. You name it!'

  • How long do you play for?

'Usually around an hour and a half split into two sets, but we're open to negotiation depending on how long you need for your event!'

  • Do you have your own PA and lighting?

'We have our own amps that can fill a decent sized room with a warm, balanced sound and all we need is a supply to the mains. However, if you require something more high-end, then we ask that you provide it.'

  • How much space do you require?

'Not much, we can easily fit into a corner or be front and centre on stage. It's up to you!'

  • My favourite tune is not on your list. Will you be able to play it?

'You get 1 free request on booking and anymore will be £50 per song (due to rehearsal time.) This needs to be mentioned upon booking.'

  • How many breaks do you take? How long are they?

'We will take one 20 minute break, if your set is longer than 1 hour.'
