Soul Junction are a 9 piece soul and covers band playing the greats from Soul & Motown from across the decades.

Soul Junction are a sharp 9 piece West Midlands based band covering a fantastic array of soul hits. From The Commitments to The Blues Brothers, Northern Soul to Motown, the songs are selected from across the decades for a memorable soul tribute. The powerful vocals of male and female combine with the finest musicianship to create a heady mix of unforgettable tunes that will have you dancing and singing all night long!

So thanks for joining us and from time to time you will find video clips,photos and upcoming gig dates. We will be updating the page regularly so come back as often as you like.

Lead Singer - Steve Clarke

Steve is an outstanding lead vocalist with many years experience singing in soul bands. He bring his own unique talents to the band coupled with a rich soulful voice.

Singer - Megan-Louise Daniels

Megan is a Birmingham based singer who has performed extensively as part of The City of Birmingham Young Voices and Blackpool’s School of Creative Arts as part of their choir. Megan has performed at Westminster Abbey for The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and audience as part of the Commonwealth Observance Day and at Buckingham Palace. She went on to be part of YMT: UK and Frankenstein to Eight and has appeared at The Old Rep (Birmingham), The Symphony Hall, The International Convention Centre (Birmingham), The Brick Workshop Theatre (Blackpool), The Zion Arts Centre (Manchester), The Contact Theatre (Manchester), The Soho Theatre and Drum Theatre Royal (Plymouth).
Megan has trained vocally with Zoe Tyler, Jeremy Fisher, Gillyanne Kayes and Tom Pearce and she has also performed with Aled Jones for Peace One Day. Megan has most recently performed as a solo artist before collaborating as part of Perfect Fifth Events and eventually joining the vocal line up in Soul Junction earlier this year.

Keyboard - Dave Lynn

Dave is an accomplished piano and keyboard player with 20 years experience. He started playing at a very young age and as time moved on, his passion for music became very apparent. He studied music at college and started to play in bands.Over the years he has played a variety of genres stretching from rock and pop to blues and jazz and of course, Soul. He has had many years experience with many different bands including cover bands, party bands and tribute bands, and also dabbled with original material.Dave is very pleased to be part of a great group of musicians and looks forward to success with Soul Junction.

Drums - John Hewitt

John has been a self taught drummer since 1976, he had played in several bands by 1980 when he played on "Sent From Coventry" album with the band The End, where he teamed up with Dave Gedney amongst others.In 1980 The End evolved with the addition of brass and became Team 23. They toured with Dexy's Midnight Runners, Madness, Selecter and The Specials. In 1981 after a short break, Team 23 reformed with John, Jim lantesbury, Lynn Thompson (all later in King!) with Dec Byrne and Mick Galic (who then went on to join Dexy's Midnight Runners on Come On Eileen).
In 1983, John joined chart band King recording on CBS and toured all over UK and Scotland. Love and Pride got to No.2 in the charts. John took a break until 1996 when he played in a band called Lost the Plot who recorded an album and gigged. In 2009 John was involved in the World Guiness Book Of Records at the NIA.........600 drummers drumming!!! Very Loud!!!
In 2011 Dec asked John to form Soul Junction which he accepted immediately. John has real passion for drumming, music and Soul Junction and looks forward to a fantastic future with the band.

Lead Guitar - Dave Gedney

Dave is rated one of the best guitarists in the area. Having performed with many bands both in UK and toured extensively overseas.

Bass Guitar - Bob Hackett

Bob is a very accomplished bassist . He played with the Cissy Stone band at their height and has also played with some great names in the industry.

Trumpet - Mick Beeston

Mick started playing in very early years within the Leicestershire Brass Band movement, in teen years combined this with trumpet for dance bands in the Midlands, and 10 piece brass ensemble. More recently playing in 8-10 piece cover/tribute bands throughout the country playing pop and soul music for public, private and corporate type events.

Alto/Tenor Saxophone - Patrick Geddes-Smith

Patrick started playing saxophone in the mid 60’s and joined the first ever soul band in Birmingham known funnily enough as The Junction. He then moved to another soul outfit called the Traction and then onto the Locomotive who completed many tours of Germany and were signed to Parlophone (EMI).
In 1971 he joined Body & Soul which later became the Cissy Stone Band and went on to win New Faces in 1976. The band backed many artistes including Bobby Vee, Tammy Lynn, Irma Franklin, Millie Jackson and in 1982 became the backing group for the Drifters which featured Ben E King. They then worked in South Africa and the Middle East until finally Cissy went solo.

Tenor/Baritone Saxophone - Dec Byrne

Dec has played with many great Soul bands over the last 30 years playing with and supporting some of the greats of the Soul music era such as Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Curtis Mayfield ,The Drifters and The Crystals . Dec also plays guitar and sings backing harmony vocals.
