FAQs

  • How long do you play for?

Normally I'll give two, sometimes three performances of about 10 to 15 tunes each time. I always gauge the audience as to when is a good time to break.

  • Do you have your own PA and lighting?

My pipes are very mobile and don't need an amplifier. Being well tuned, they have full volume and a pleasing sound to the ear.

  • Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?

I have public liability insurance for my premises. I don't need electrical equipment.

  • My favourite tune is not on your list. Will you be able to play it?

I have memorized over 200 tunes properly. Not normally stuck for choice.

  • How many breaks do you take? How long are they?

Between one and two breaks to allow for variety. Usually discuss schedule with events organizer.

  • When would the piper be arriving.

Normally arrive 30 minutes prior to start of playing.

  • Does the piper have more than one tartan or highland uniform ?

I have several tartans, at least seven and as many sporrans, but also have the full regimental dress with feather bonnet. Scots Guards style.

Set List/Services
