How did it begin?
Slinky was formed and remains to this day a band determined to answer the question “what if…?” That’s the short version. In more detail, having first-hand experience of what it takes to perform at the highest level in terms of production, musical arrangement and of course performance, the “what if?” seeks to apply that same attention to detail to a covers band. with the focus fixed firmly on giving the target audience (i.e. packed dance floor) a night they won’t forget anytime soon. The highest priority is given to meeting the challenge of being sufficiently different so as to stand out from the norm without being in any way pretentious or over-indulgent.
So what’s the lineup?
Five very capable musicians make up this fabulous covers band. With female and male vocals fronting the band along with 3 additional backing vocalists Slinky can, and literally cover all genres but most importantly play everything to the highest standard! Slinky have fantastic on-stage chemistry and a repertoire that will light up your evening. Stuffed full of timeless funk classics to dance floor fillers with modern chart tunes well represented. You will definitely recognize many songs and won’t be able to resist the temptation to dance the night away.
Meeting the requirement of such a challenge requires a band made up of like-minded individuals, passionate about preforming and experts in their field and most importantly free of egos.
Where have they performed?
Based in Scotland, Slinky have entertained audiences across the U.K, Middle East, U.S and Europe with their infectious live shows for over 15 years. Whether it’s performing at concerts, festivals, hotels and bar residencies, high class corporate events and cruise lines they are always in high demand. They have just recently returned from a residency in the stunning new jazz venue ‘Frioul’, on the serene and beautiful waterways of Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai’s where they performed funk/neo soul 6 nights a week for a 5 week contract.
