FAQs

  • What kind of events do you usually serve?

Weddings, parties, dinners, receptions, corporate events etc.

  • How long do you play for?

The minimum hire period is 2 hours. Most clients opt for either 2 or 3 hours, which is ample for most events, although the quartet can play for longer if required.

  • Do you have your own PA and lighting?

  • Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?

The quartet has Public Liability Insurance. We do not use any electrical equipment.

  • How much space do you require?

    Around 2m x 3m

  • My favourite tune is not on your list. Will you be able to play it?

Yes, it is possible for the quartet to arrange one new piece if you have a special request (given sufficient notice), included in the fee.

  • Can you play outisde?

The quartet is happy to play outside, but this is very much weather dependent – in fine weather, we just need a shady spot (or cover in the form of a gazebo) to protect the instruments from direct sun. The quartet owns a gazebo, and this can be provided given advance notice.

  • What music will you play?

The musicians will usually select music from their repertoire appropriate to your event. For some events, this will mean an entirely classical selection, others mainly lighter/pop music, but for most we find a general mixture is most appropriate. If you have an idea about the type of music you would like, or have any specific requests, please do let us know. For wedding ceremonies, most couples like to select their own choices for music during the ceremony (entrance, signing of the register and exit). The quartet is happy to consult with you to select the perfect pieces for these moments. Music listed on our repertoire list can usually be requested on the day, but for any additional requests, please ask well in advance.

  • What will you require?

The quartet will simply need a suitable space to sit (with good light), four armless chairs and somewhere out of sight to store instrument cases. There is no need for any amplification or microphones.
