Description
We are an acoustic Parisian-style jazz band playing a vibrant blend of Gypsy Swing, jazz standards and funky latin, all mashed up with some snappy arrangements and played from the heart.
Available to hire as solo guitar, duo, trio, quartet (with or without vocals) and quintet (with or without vocals).
Whether you’re looking for laid-back background music or something more up tempo for dancing, our Gypsy Jazz band offers a heady mix of hot Gypsy Swing, funky Latin tunes and cool Jazz Standards, the ideal complement to your wedding or event.
Spanning across the 1920’s, 1930’s and 1940’s, this distinctive style of music with its Continental, upbeat quality is a refreshing alternative to more traditional acoustic ensembles.
You can either hire Jonny as a solo guitarist or with the rest of the band as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet, with your choice of line-up including guitar, double bass, violin, accordion, clarinet/sax and vocals. Watch the videos below to see the different line-ups in action.
The band is comprised of professional musicians who have a wealth of experience performing at weddings and events throughout the UK and internationally, playing for the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Terence Conran and Roman Abramovich to name a few.

How long do you play for?
Either 2 x 60 minute sets or 3 x 40 minute sets over a 3.5 hour period (longer playing times can be negotiated).
Do you have your own PA and lighting?
We provide our own amps and can plug into a larger sound system if necessary. We do not provide lighting.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?

How much space do you require?
2m x 2m required for solo guitar up to 4m x 2m for Quintet.
My favourite tune is not on your list. Will you be able to play it?
We play an extensive repertoire including Gypsy Jazz, jazz standards and Latin numbers from the 20's, 30's and 40's. If it is a tune from this era and genre, and is not included in our repertoire, we would be happy to incorporate it into our performance for an additional fee. Our repertoire list is available upon request.
How many breaks do you take? How long are they?
If we are playing for 2 x 60 minute sets, we will take one break of up to 30 minutes, depending on your requirements. If we are playing for 3 x 40 minute sets, we will take two breaks, usually of up to 20 minutes, again depending on your requirements.
Set List/Services
The standard duration of our performance is either 2 x 60 minute sets or 3 x 40 minute sets over a 3.5 hour period (longer playing times can be negotiated).
The band line-ups we offer are as follows:
Solo guitar (with loop station backing)
Guitar duo
Guitar & double bass duo
Trio - 2 x guitar & 1 x double bass
Instrumental Quartet - 2 x guitar, 1 x double bass & either violin, accordion or clarinet/sax
Quartet with vocals - 2 x guitar, 1 x double bass & 1 x female vocals
Quintet - 2 x guitar, 1 x double bass & your choice of two of the following four options: 1 x vocals, 1 x violin, 1 x accordion or 1 x clarinet/sax
A repertoire list can be supplied on request.
