The Elysia String Quartet is the #1 string quartet and solo violinist based in the South Lakes District, performing at civil and religious venues across the Lake District, Cumbria and Lancashire. We play for weddings, partnerships, celebrations of all kinds!
We love to play your selection of pop , jazz and classics and can often play your special requests. A variety of packages are available, with each performance individually tailored to add an elegant atmosphere to your special day. We also have a solo violinist available for smaller events.
The Elysia String Quartet were recently featured on Border TV's "Lookaround" programme.
Our most recent performances have included weddings at Armathwaite Hall, Muncaster Castle, Storrs Hall, The Sharrow Bay, The Swan Inn, Newby Bridge, The Low Wood Hotel and The Netherwood Hotel, to name just a few!
We have also played for the opening of Dobbies' Garden Centre in Carlisle and at Kendal museum.

For the second hour we gathered around her with others sitting outside and on the staircase listening and chatting. It was simply enchanting, a real peak experience of the evening.

Penny is truly delightful, talented and professional. She played at our wedding at Comlongon Castle. It was 6pm and in candlelight. Truly beautiful. I entered dramatically to the Brave heart theme. I will never forget,I felt like a princess.
