Hailing from Italy, Cris came to London to follow her passion for Music after being classically trained many years in Parma.
In London, Cris joined several indie bands as a singer, acoustic guitarist, and co-writer. In 2004 Cris started to write her own songs and formed her own indie/folk project simply called Cris Tanzi.
One of her self produced tracks “My home” was selected by Mercedes Benz mixed tape and gained quite a bit of exposure thanks to an online label called Beatpick.
After a few years of songwriting and being active in the underground-unsigned London scene, Cris felt the need to expand her musical knowledge to be able to compose more interesting pieces.
She started to listen to jazz singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Billy Holiday and soon enough, was hooked into the genre so much so that she decided to complete a degree in Jazz at Middlesex University where she specialized in vocals and piano.
Cris Tanzi has been performing solo, and with talented musicians in and out of London for private and public functions.

They add a highly enjoyable and jazzy twist to a lot of old favourites, including songs by the Supremes, Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder and many more! Cris and Nick work excellently together and deliver flawless vocals, guitar and bass throughout their sets.
Nick played in an orchestra of 150 musicians for the world premier of John Cage/Merce Cunningham’s Ballet ‘Ocean’. Cris has had the pleasure to perform with Ronnie's Scott regular guitarist Carl Orr
We can cater for intimate venues almost unplugged and keep the costs low and we can offer background music between sets so there are not breaks. Cris is native Italian and can add that Mediterranean feel to any performances. We also encourage guests or clients who want to play to join us during their special event if they want to do so as it would make the event more lively and fun for everyone.
