Berking Mad is a long established ceilidh/barn dance band with caller and PA. Comprising melodeon, guitar and caller. The band has a wide repertoire of dances from very easy to quite difficult and slow to fast. The caller is sensitive to dancers abilities and believes a ceilidh should be fun and not a workshop. We always turn up, or, in extenuating circumstances will find a replacement.

Arrived early and were patient and flexible when timings on the day didn’t go exactly to plan. Very lovely people too, laid back and a lot of fun. Everyone had a great evening!

It was my son's 30th birthday party and the band were excellent. They arrived on time and set up very quickly. They pitched their dances to the ability of our dancers and the caller was really patient and godd humoured. I would recommend Berking Mad Ceilidh Band very highly. They even coped really well with the freezing cold hall (the heating wasn't working properly).

"Words cannot describe how pleased we are about the exceptional entertainment provided by Dave, Mike and Gerry at our wedding in Durham. Their fantastic repertoire truly added a special and unique touch to our evening, and provided many of our guests from all corners the world a wonderful introduction to British folk music. Not to mention how patient and friendly their caller Dave was especially in teaching the dances to our guests, many of whom had never danced a Ceilidh before. In addition, their cheerfulness and easygoing disposition really helped us and our guests have a marvellous time. To this day, our guests still constantly praise the ceilidh music provided during the evening. Thank you so much and we would recommend them over and over again to anyone seeking quality entertainment for any event.""
Thank you ever so much once again - you truly made it a night to remember for us.

I’ve been Mrs Donnelly for 2 weeks now and I’m still smiling from how lovely our wedding was which is mainly thanks to you and your band mates.
Our family and friends and still talking about the day and how great the ceilidh was. The atmosphere you created was just what we wanted and you were wonderful when the singer didn’t turn up.
We can’t thank you enough.

"I’d just like to say a massive thank you to Dave, Mike and Gerry who form The Berking Mad Band. This is the third event that we have booked them for and once again it was a massive success.
They are always reliable and turn up on time. They set up the equipment with no fuss and are very adaptable to any type of event whether it be a Burns Night, a Ceilidh, a Wedding or a Birthday Party.
Dave is incredibly patient at giving instructions to those who are novice dancers and even goes out onto the dance floor to help people with the dance steps. They cater for all abilities, young and old!
Dave encourages people to get up to dance without being too intrusive and has a good sense of humour which makes people laugh and enjoy the night.
Everyone who has been to our events where The Berking Mad Band have played have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and have always been very positive about this band.
I would certainly recommend The Berking Mad Band for any occasion and will be booking them again in the future.
