Description
Ashnah are Oxfordshire's only American Tribal Style® teaching and performing group, and have been together for 15 years. Please note, we are very different from the traditional style of bellydance - ATS® is a modern style of folkloric dance, taking influences from North Africa, the Middle East, India and Spain and is performed in a group. The dancing is always accompanied by zills (finger cymbals), is performed completely improvised, with the dancers using a non verbal language to communicate to each other in the form of cues, to indicate which step will be performed next. It's different, it's earthy, colourful, vibrant and loud! No two performances are the same!
Certified teachers, dancers and fully insured.

• Sept. 14, 2016Wow, what can I say where do I start. You were amazing and brought so much happiness and cheer to the home. I have had so much positive feed back this morning and word and spread round the home like wild fire of how good you all were and the others seem quite disappointed who didn't come down. Thought it would be a great excuse and good to get you back again. The dancing and bright colour outfits worked so well the residents here, it especially helped our residents with dementia trigging some good memories of the past. Overall it was fantastic and we cannot wait to have you all back. Glad you also enjoyed entertaining the residents here. Many thanks again.
