Please, describe your act or business in on sentence:
We are a string quartet based in Birmingham, West Midlands, offering high quality live music to add a magical touch to your special event!
What are the highlights of your career?
As a quartet we have performed at the Royal Television Society Midlands Awards Ceremony in 2018, a high-profile event that took place at Birmingham’s prestigious Town Hall. We have also performed together in a musical production of Evita. More recently, we have performed with The Carpenters Experience tribute band, at a sell out performance at Leicester Haymarket Theatre. As individual professionally trained musicians, we have worked with G4 Official, Southern Sinfonia, Music for Youth Proms, and Kings Chamber Orchestra. We have also had the privilege of playing at prestigious locations around the UK, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Birmingham Town Hall, The Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. We have also played in musical productions of Oliver, Miss Saigon, and Legally Blonde.
What is your competitive advantage (special features)?
Unlike other string quartets or entertainment companies who accept gigs and find the musicians later, we always use the same players to ensure our high quality and standard at every event. We can always guarantee that the string quartet you book with us will consist of talented, professionally-trained musicians who have performed with together before, and know their music inside-out! We aim to make your event as personalised and special as possible! We always welcome song requests and will endeavour to find and create arrangements of as many of your requests as possible. We also pride ourselves on having an extensive repertoire list that we regularly update to include more modern, chart topping songs!
What kind of events do you usually serve?
We usually serve weddings, but have experience playing at high-profile events, such as the RTS Midlands Awards ceremony.
Who are your previous clients?
We have a wealth of experience performing at wedding ceremonies and receptions. We have also played with The Carpenters Experience tribute band at the Haymarket Theatre in Leicester, and been booked by the Royal Television Society to play for their Midlands Awards ceremony.
How can event planners pay for your services?
Feel free to get in touch with us, and we can provide you a quote tailored to your requests.
How long do you play for?
We aim to fit in with your event as seamlessly as possible, and can play for as long as you’d like us to! We normally play a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 3 hours, but please get in touch to arrange your timings more specifically.
Do you have your own PA and lighting?
As a string quartet with acoustic instruments, we do not.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?
We do have Public Liability Insurance, and will only need to bring our acoustic instruments, music, and music stands with us.
How much space do you require?
We require a space of 3 x 2 metres. We also require 4 armless chairs.
My favourite tune is not on your list. Will you be able to play it?
We always welcome song requests and will endeavour to find and create arrangements of as many of your requests as possible. Though, please be aware that if we are required to buy arrangements or create them ourselves, an additional fee will apply.
How many breaks do you take? How long are they?
We require a break of 15 minutes every 1 hour.
What will you wear?
Our standard “uniform” is smart black clothes for all weddings and events, unless you’d prefer otherwise! Please ask us if you’d like us to wear something different and we will endeavour to accommodate your request.
Can you play outside?
We absolutely can play outside, providing we have protection from adverse weather. Our instruments are delicate and made of wood, so we are unable to play in rain, direct sunlight or very cold weather. We also play from sheet music, so shelter from wind is always a must (though we do come armed with pegs!).
