After years travelling the globe and working and eating on four continents, Alastair has returned home to cater for some of the smartest and most refined palates in London and the South West.
His food is recognisably British in tone, but borrows occasionally from India, the Americas, France, Italy and Spain.
The focus is always on sourcing the best local ingredients, and Alastair has a personal relationship with some of the best producers in the South West and beyond. Sustainability is also high on his agenda, and wherever possible ingredients are organic and always certified sustainable.
As excited by a greenhouse tomato as by a fine beef fillet or native lobster, Alastair squeezes the last ounce of flavour from everything and lets quality ingredients speak for themselves.
Alastair has been hired as a private chef across the globe; cooking for a wide variety of events including shooting weekends for prestigious country estates, corporate team building weekends and intimate dinner parties in private houses and The Pineapple Room in the heart of Totnes.
His bespoke menu writing service will have your taste buds tingling at the prospect of eating a unique meal, at your event, or indeed at his famous pop-ups!

Wonderful food, even catering for some specific requirements without fuss. Ali evidently values good quality ingredients and sources them locally. Service was unintrusive but friendly and helpful. The kitchen was left immaculate. We really couldn’t suggest improvements. Thank you so much

"I found Ali on the web and started the whole process off by email. He was cooking for me for my 40th birthday party. From start to finish the communication was excellent. Explained to Ali the type of food I liked and he came up with suggestions. Ali also let me tweak the suggestions also to fine tune dishes which made me really happy. So we started with 1) Crab Ravioli with Lobster bisque (trust me, you don't wanna miss out on this). The ravioli was served as one whole large ravioli stuffed with what you could clearly taste was fresh crab. The bisque was divine. 2) Lamb two ways (slow roasted shoulder as tender as anything with two noisettes of lam fillet served with dauphinoise potato and confit of garlic. 3) Chocolate fondant with home made vanilla ice cream and raspberry coulis. I saw Ali making the ice cream in the kitchen and the fondant was cooked to perfection.

Basically, if you want a fail safe evening and want to impress your guests then use Ali as he's a bit of a perfectionist and dead organised. All my guests raved about him and gave each dish 10/10 and I had 10 guests who love their food. One of my guests has already asked for his contact details. Cheers for all Ali"

Alastair is a fantastic chef; I am so delighted to have his cooking in my life! He is such a friendly, calm and warm presence in the kitchen and his food is tremendous; delicious, delightful and marvellous. We will definitely be using him again and I would utterly recommend him to anyone in need of catering.

Alastair is an amazing chef - he whipped up a storm for my birthday party and everyone loved it. He is also a great guy to have around in the kitchen - he doesn't seemed to get stressed even when there are masses of people around he still manages to keep his cool and make yummy food. Defo recommend him to anyone looking for catering.

  • What services do you offer?
    We offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. Small private chef events right up to weddings of 200+
  • What kind of cuisine do you offer?
    We focus on using local ingredients, Organic where possible, and often from specialist suppliers and growers from the South Hams area. As such, our cuisine is broadly British in flavour - but we like to mix it up too. We have a range of canapes and party food reflects our love for Oriental, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and South American food. Why cant you have it all?!
  • Do you also offer a wedding cake?
    Yes we have a specialist supplier of bespoke wedding cakes
  • What is included in the menu?
    Generally our menus include canapes on arrival, a complimentary cocktail and 3 courses.
