Dorridge Village Hall

The Hall can be found on the B4101 (Grange Road), just after Dorridge Park heading towards Hockley Heath. We are about 4 miles from Solihull town centre and close to the M42 (see map). The main hall is 15.5 m x 9.5 m and is accessed from the bar area with two sets of double glass doors. There is a fully sized stage at the head of the hall dressed with velvet curtains. The hall is big enough to accommodate a full-sized badminton court.


The hall is very popular for wedding receptions (Saturdays only), anniversary parties, children's parties and adult birthday parties (at the moment, due to licensing restrictions, we do not cater for birthday parties for those aged between 14 and 21 inclusive). It will comfortably seat 120 people for a sit down meal, but could accommodate more (see Capacity box below). The hall has wall lighting suitable for social functions and fluorescent strip lighting if required.


Bar area at Dorridge Village Hall

We have 20 rectangular tables which seat up to 8 people. The chairs are a gold colour fabric which match almost any colour combination you may wish to use for your function.


The carpeted bar area measures an area of 7m x 5m. Lounge chairs are placed around this area for a more informal social setting. Click here for a picture.

Custard Factory

The Custard Factory is the most powerful collection of creative and digital businesses, independent retailers and event venues outside London. Along with its sister project, Fazeley Studios, it forms the heart of Birmingham’s creative and digital district. Just over five minutes walk from the Bullring, it is home to over 500 businesses and hosts a regular calendar of fairs, festivals and gigs, as well as corporate and private events and weddings.

The Custard Factory is set in 15 acres of beautifully renovated riverside factories, built more than 100 years ago by Alfred Bird to manufacture and market his famous invention, eggless Custard. At one time he had a thousand people making the stuff and was exporting it across the globe. However, following the rationing and production limits imposed by World War Two, the company was taken over and in 1964 production relocated to Banbury and the factories fell derelict.


We took The Custard Factory over in 1988. We began to restore the buildings and opened it up to the best of Birmingham’s young creative talent. The first phase, Scott House, launched in 1993 and was so popular that it was full before the brochures had finished printing.


Today we have developed over three quarters of a million square feet and not just on the core Custard Factory site. The Custard Factory has expanded to become a whole creative quarter, including our sister project Fazeley Studios, the TV Studios of Maverick TV (How to Look Good Naked, Embarrassing Bodies) and North One TV (The Gadget Show) and the creative workspace and incubation at Boxxed. Tenants of the Custard Factory itself range from innovative start ups to household brands such as ASOS and the Prince’s Trust.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens & Glasshouses

Civil Ceremonies and Church Weddings

We are licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 110 guests. There are two options, you can exchange your vows in the sitting room of the hall or we can host the ceremony in the barn.

The venue at Wootton Park is the ideal location for any event for up to 150 people. The three split levels within the main room and adjoining Tractor Shed create a great atmosphere. Bands can set up on the stage or you can use it for speeches. There is space for up to 150 people to enjoy an evening party and disco.


Equine Learning offer a range of horsemanship courses and experiences from their Picnic Lunches to horse camps for disadvantaged children.


Working closely with a variety of suppliers we can make your event a success and very memorable. Anything is possible from fairground rides to casino tables.


A wide range of events can be hosted including private parties, anniversary parties, birthday parties, corporate events, funeral wakes, life celebrations.


The bar is open until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights and the venue closes at 1am so you can dance the night away. Accommodation is available on-site in the beautiful 450 year old Farmhouse, renovated Bakehouse and there are even four Glamping pods for the more adventurous.

Coventry Cathedral

In the Nave of the Cathedral we can accommodate a whole host of events, including impressive banquets for up to 500. We have a range of smaller rooms for workshops, meetings and dinners and, as an added advantage, we are conveniently close to the City Centre and to transport hubs.

Old Shire Hall

Built by William and David Hiorn in 1750 to the designs of gentleman-architect Sanderson Miller, Old Shire Hall is a magnificent Grade I listed building including a main hall, three courtrooms and cells.
The Old Shire Hall complex was used by Her Majesty’s Courts Service until December 2010. The beautiful buildings can be used for civic functions, corporate events, filming, theatre performances, weddings and conferences.


The impressive Old Shire Hall offers an unparalleled combination of capacity and character and is ideal for gala dinners for 160 or 350 for receptions.


In addition, the Georgian Grade 2 listed Judges’ House which is accessible from the Old Shire Hall, offers elegant dining and drawing rooms for fine dining and drinks receptions.
