The Fourmost had its roots steeped in the eclectic 1960s Mersey beat boom and was part of the Brian Epstein stable along with The Beatles, Billy J Kramer, Gerry and The Pacemakers, Cilla Black and others. The band has evolved from enjoying 1960’s chart hits such as Hello Little Girl (no.9) and A Little Loving (no.6) and less popular songs as I’m In Love (17), Baby I Need Your Lovin (24), Girls Girls Girls (33) and a cover of George Formby’s Auntie Maggie’s Remedy which failed to chart in the UK.
During the 1970s and the early 1980s like many of its peers, The Fourmost played mainly on the cabaret circuit as it struggled to compete for appeal with disco, funk, glam rock and punk.
Since the mid 1980s The Fourmost has enjoyed a golden era as part of the wider 1960s revival scene and now appear throughout the UK and Europe playing at theatre's, holiday parks and 60s festivals to a diverse fan base.
The Fourmost have been continually active since forming as the Four Jays in 1959, the personal may have changed over the years but the sound and look of the band have remained the same.
The Fourmost are one of the most authentic 1960s bands currently on the circuit today, from their Fender amps, Rapier guitars and Premier drums down to their Italian made slim- fitted suits and Cuban heel boots.

I booked the Fourmost for my parents 50th wedding anniversary, and after spending many hrs looking at all the 60s acts on the web we settled with what we thought looked the more polished and authentic band out their. We were not disappointed, in fact we were taken aback with how professional this band are. Didn’t come cheap, but you can clearly see why. Our family & friends no matter what there ages thoroughly enjoyed their trip back in time with the Fourmost, cannot recommend this band highly enough, well worth their money.
Just had our wedding evening on Saturday 9th September and the Fourmost played for our main event! Fantastic band and lovely to work with. Very genuine and would highly recommend for any suitable occasion. We had a 50/60s theme of a wedding and they were perfect!! 10/10 and beyond! Excellent tribute that took myself and all our guests on a magical ride through the 60's. Very professional in every sense and wouldn't hesitate to book again for possible future party's. Four very friendly guys who will go out their way to make your event run as smooth as possible.
The best and most authentic 60s band on the circuit today bar none. Throughout their 75 min set they had the place rocking, 90% of the 400 strong crowd were all on their feet. If you want the best, book the best, The Fourmost will not let you or your guests down in anyway shape or form. One last thing, they have to be the smartest band I have seen and booked in my 30yrs of promoting shows. Class act, period! (10 / 10)
I just thought I'd drop you a line to congratulate you on the tremendous contribution the Fourmost made to the recent "Rock the Boat" cruise aboard the Celebrity Eclipse. The set you performed on Deck 3 on the Sunday was really fantastic and I'm sure you'll have appreciated the enthusiastic reception and sing-a-long that accompanied it. It was, after the technical issues you encountered, certainly well worth waiting for and a positive highlight of the weekend's entertainment. Anyway, let me congratulate you once again, wish you all the best for the remainder of your 2016 gigs and most of all, thank you for keeping the music live.
