The manor house still retains its purpose as a home, which gives it a relaxed atmosphere of privacy and comfort and unlike a hotel we never have more than one wedding a weekend, allowing you to make this beautiful home and grounds exclusively yours for the weekend (until noon on the Sunday).


The hire fee will give you access to the property for two and a half days. This runs from the day before your wedding to give suppliers time to set up. On this day close family and overnight guests have access. Wedding guests have access on the day of your reception. All our accommodation, 12 bedrooms are reserved for your party so you can stay the night before your wedding if you wish. Bedrooms are only charged for if used. Overnight guests have access until midday the day after your wedding.


We are licensed for civil wedding services. Numbers for civil ceremony are up to 80 and for reception are 200 plus.

The Small Dining Room:

We can accommodate up to 30 guests for a wedding ceremony or evening party, or up to a maximum of 30 guests for a sit down Wedding Breakfast.


The Front Portico:


Weather permitting between the months of May and October it is possible to have an outdoor civil ceremony.


St John the Baptist Church:


In addition to civil ceremonies being held at Dorton House we are in a unique position to be able to offer couples the opportunity of a church ceremony. A mere 25 metres behind Dorton House we also have the beautiful St John the Baptist church hidden away.
