Hello and thank you for your enquiry. Annasach Ceilidh Band would be available and delighted to play for your ceilidh. Our standard fee for a ceilidh up to three hours long and finishing by midnight includes – • Three piece band of fiddle, piano and bass. • A dedicated, experienced dance “caller”. • Fully PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) tested PA system and lighting. • Public Liability Insurance. • All travel expenses to your venue. Our typical evening would be playing from 9pm until midnight, and we would require an hour before the start time to set-up. We normally take up to a 30 minute break (although not if playing for 2 hours or less) in the middle of the evening, for example timed with the buffet, although all timings are flexible and we can cater for your individual requirements. Annasach has been playing for ceilidhs, parties, birthdays, folk festivals and weddings since 1990 throughout Scotland, the UK and most recently Germany, France, Portugal and Switzerland. We have a solid reputation, providing an energetic vibrant sound to entertain your guests. We have a dedicated dance caller, Tricia (who is probably the most important member of the band!), who has years of experience and is guaranteed to calm any nerves and make sure that everyone enjoys themselves. If you would like to come and see Annasach play live then we regularly play for public ceilidhs and we would be happy to provide you with a pair of complimentary tickets! With Annasach you are dealing with the musicians directly and we know how important the music is to your evening for generating the perfect atmosphere. BLACK VELVET BAND CEILIDH TRIO provides two musicians (guitar/vocals or accordion & fiddle) + dance caller to perform 2 x 1 hour sets of ceilidh dancing in a 3 hour period. We are able to teach well-known dances and we can play a mix of Barn Dances and other celtic songs for guests to dance to. Our Barn Dances are based on a Scottish repertoire such as the Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant and the Eight-some Reel, with occasional other countries represented. We have a great deal of experience teaching novices, and understand that it is more important that people have fun and keep dancing, than the dances are perfect! We also play a variety of songs from around the globe for your guests to dance or relax to, between the Ceilidh dances. We have our own lighting and sound system which you are welcome to use to play your own music around our live set. We arrive one hour before our performance to set up our instruments, PA system and lighting. We then play two 50 minute sets with a short interval. We look forward to hearing from you. Recent review: Wednesday Nights in the Chagford Inn becomes a whole lot more fun thanks to Lisa and her friends playing their special style of Klezmer and gypsy music. Lisa on violin with Basil the accordionist played some great music which made you want to leap up and dance balanced by some haunting slower pieces. The guitarist provided excellent support, as did the ’basso continuo’ from the accordionist's left hand using the whole instrument to boost the sound. Sparkling and precise music - a real joy!
