The Tithe Barn will be open for weddings in Summer 2018.


The Tithe Barn is one large space, big enough to accommodate weddings and events both large and small. We will apply for an Alcohol and Entertainment licence until 1.00 a.m


We can accommodate civil ceremonies followed by drinks, dining and dancing for upto 200 guests (subject to licences being granted by the local authority).


CHURCH WEDDINGS


There are lots of churches local to Bolton Abbey so if you choose to get married in a church, then you can still use The Tithe Barn as your venue for your reception, wedding breakfast and evening party.

The site is exclusive use only and especially suitable for those who require more confidential business meetings or simply those who want a change of scenery from the office. Our thought provoking grounds and surroundings are perfect for performance improvement meetings and blue sky planning for your business. With a marriage of rustic and contemporary The Out Barn is a stunning example of modern design sympathetically combined with an original 17th century stone built hay barn. This design gives you two unique and independent spaces – a quieter retreat in the old barn with home grown oak beams, oak floors and pine tables, and a “wow” factor room in the modern cedar clad oval extension with full length glass bi-fold doors overlooking their farm land and Pendle Hill.


The farm is easily accessible 40 Minutes from the M6 Junction 31. With two access points to the barn traffic flows easily. We can either be access from Clitheroe or the idyllic town of Waddington. If you extras such as food & drink, staging, team building activities or accommodation for your conference / event then we can easily organise these and the above for you.

Built in 1507 and steeped in history, Browsholme Hall is the oldest surviving family home in Lancashire. Close to the house itself, enjoying the same lovely rural setting is the 17-century Tithe Barn wedding venue. In addition is the halls location in the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).


Features

The barn has been restored and converted into a unique new venue for weddings for up to 120 guests. The barn has beautiful traditional features, such as exposed stone, oak beams and flagstone floors. Two magnificent spaces can either be used together or on their own, hence creating two different environments therefore not splitting up your wedding party.


Into the conversion the latest design innovations in lighting, video, sound systems and catering facilities have been seamlessly integrated to provide a truly unique experience. All while keeping the barns original features in mind.

Wood Lane Countryside Centre

Wood Lane Countryside Centre is a two hundred year old Georgian stone built farm in Sheffield, set in the suburbs of Stannington between the Loxley and Rivelin valleys. The venue, no longer a working farm, offers unique flexibility to design your own wedding in a beautiful setting full of character. If you decide to hire the venue for your big day, you will have exclusive use of the whole site including two barns, various reception rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, a large catering kitchen, gardens and court yards. All buildings have central heating and full disabled access.

The Grain Loft is the old farm grain store which has been beautifully restored maintaining its original character with wooden floor, stone walls and original oak beams. It can accommodate up to 100 people (80 if dining) and has a fully licensed bar, making it an ideal room for large ceremonies, wedding breakfasts, and receptions.


The Stenton Barn can accommodate up to 30 people. It has a warm carpeted area and original oak beams and is well suited to smaller, more intimate wedding ceremonies.


The large, scenic grounds offer you an excellent backdrop for your wedding photos and space to have a marquee or Tipi. Surround by large trees, the private gardens have a beautifully restored bandstand, stone seating, lawns, borders and a wild flower meadow with fruit trees.


The flexibility of the venue allows you to personalise every last detail of your big day from décor, to hiring in your own caterers. You can come in the day before your wedding day and set up for your ceremony and/or reception. On the day of your wedding you would enjoy the exclusivity of the venue, grounds and gardens, making it relaxing for your guests to enjoy a glass of wine on the lawns while photographs are taken.


The Grain Loft is perfect for a wedding breakfast and evening reception, being able to accommodate up to 80 for a sit 142down meal or 100 in the evening for the reception party. It has a fully staffed bar with flexible opening times. There is no minimum spend, we do not charge corkage, and our prices reflect those of pubs in the local area.


We have a convenient in-house hire service which includes glassware, bunting, chair covers & sashes and more. Tables and chairs are included in the hire cost of the venue, but should you wish to hire in your own style of tables/chairs that’s not a problem.


There is a catering kitchen available for you or your caterers to use, as well as outdoor space in the courtyard should you wish to have a BBQ or hog roast. The large lawn to the rear of the barn is perfect for Marquees and Tipi’s. The courtyards and car park provide ample parking for your guests. The band stand, surrounded by fruit trees and beautiful flowers, is in the ideal place to have an outdoor blessing or humanist ceremony.

Two red-brick barn buildings stand either side of an enclosed farmyard which has been transformed into a stunning courtyard with a pretty sandstone fountain, mulberry trees and elegant wooden benches, perfect for hosting post-ceremony drinks. The barn is fronted with two unusual, magnificent towers, with arched entrances that provide a dramatic view to approaching guests. Within the old farm walls lies our charming courtyard and the light and spacious Oak Room links the buildings at the back of the property, offering lovely views across the lawn and into the woods.


The barn boasts traditional oak timbers and arches, while a roaring fireplace, fairy lights and a giant candelabra create the perfect atmosphere for an intimate ceremony. After dinner, this room is transformed into a spectacular dance floor.

The Barn:

A totally new state of the art entertainment and business venue set within our private, secluded location and surrounded by the backdrop of lovingly tendered fields and gardens. This recently restored 18th century Barn brings something truly inspirational to the event world. The restoration has given us the opportunity to keep many of the original features that add to an authentic and magical atmosphere.


This diverse and flexible space includes a mezzanine floor, accessed by a dramatic dual staircase, luxurious en-suite dressing room, male and female washrooms, disabled bathroom, sustainable underfloor heating, log burning stove, atmospheric lighting and in-house music and PA system. With a west facing astro-turfed terrace that gives you the longest of those balmy summer nights, outside lighting and fire pit all of which can be tailored to your specific occasion or function.


PLACE TO STAY


There has been a working water mill here since the 16th century in its own unique setting. The Mill pond and cascading waterfall, overlooking ancient woodland and rolling landscape makes for a truly romantic backdrop.


Our newly renovated Mill House is set in over 4 acres of private grounds with breath taking views from the south facing Terrace of the gardens and pond. The entire house is available for accommodation, consisting of 2 master suites with bathrooms, one with a balcony; 3 double bedrooms with on-suite shower rooms; Guest lounge with fireplace; French windows onto Terrace; Kitchen, Dining Room, Garden Conservatory; Downstairs W/C and Entrance Hall. Crossing the ancient stone bridge over the moat brings you to our stunning gardens surrounding the old Hall. Nearly thirty years ago this area did not resemble anything like you will see today. Lovingly cultivated and tendered into a series of formal garden rooms showing an array of all year round trees and shrubs, including the awe inspiring knot garden, all combine to make this the perfect site for outdoor civil ceremonies and photographic opportunities.

Surrounding Holford are arable food growing fields; we are real foodies that’s why we have chosen to work with one of the best catering companies in the UK for that farm to fork experience. Alongside are 35 acres of old woodland, a bubbling trout stream, horses grazing in their paddocks, fantastic nature trail walks, all of which add to the experience of this wonderful setting.

The high ceilings and oak beams lead through to The Dining Barn, an impressive space that can be curtained off from the ceremony area during your nuptials. With a wall of French doors opening onto the verandah, you can thoroughly appreciate the countryside setting. The décor is elegant and neutral with wrought iron chandeliers and wall lights crafted by our local blacksmith. A versatile area, the barn can easily accommodate 140 for a wedding breakfast, and yet is also perfectly suited for more intimate celebrations. We generally only allow one or at the most two weddings per week, so that you have time to decorate Bank Barn exactly as you wish and turn it into your dream party venue. The West Mill is a magnificent Grade I Listed former industrial mill dating back to the early 1800’s. The mill has been restored and converted into a beautiful wedding venue creating a magnificent setting for your wedding day.

Originally built as a cotton spinning mill, the building played an important part in history and the industrial revolution. Having laid empty and derelict the four-storey building has been lovingly restored back to life.


The mill’s renovation has retained all of the industrial architecture of the 1800’s and the building is positioned in a superb setting on the riverbanks of the River Derwent. Inside, think barrel-vaulted ceilings, exposed brick walls, cast iron columns and beams, all a stone’s throw away from the breathtaking waterfalls of the weir.


The West Mill is licensed for civil weddings and wedding receptions. The building is positioned in a superb setting on the riverbanks of the River Derwent and the waterfall over the historic weir.
