We offer a special reduced, community rate for local community groups and charities to ensure that we remain at the heart of Bakewell. Our current users are wide ranging and we want to welcome new groups, so we’ve made considerable efforts to improve accessibility. With the improvements we’ve implemented Bakewell Town Hall can provide rooms for hire with quality facilities for both small and large user groups.

We have three rooms available for hire. Our smallest is the Bakewell Town Hall Council Chamber on the first floor, still used by the Town Council today. It can seat groups of up to 20 people comfortably and in some style. The Council Chamber is accessible by lift from the ground floor.

Our Bakewell Town Hall Court Room Gallery is our most flexible and popular space, seating up to 60 people. It has a small stage and also access to an induction hearing loop for our users who have difficulties with their hearing. Being situated on the ground floor, the Court Room Gallery provides easy access for visitors and also houses a permanent, but ever-changing exhibition of original prints by the Sheffield Printmakers, and features the work of a number of local Artists. Find out more about our local Artists…

The Bakewell Town Hall Assembly Room Theatre is our largest room for hire and can accommodate up to 200 people for a dance, or theatre layout to seat 165. As you can see in the photo to the right the Assembly Room Theatre has a large stage set behind what’s known as a proscenium arch. Trent Bridge

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB TRENT BRIDGE, WEST BRIDGFORD,, NG2 6AG, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
We'd love to welcome you to our Wedding Open Day on Sunday 17 February, between 11am and 3pm. Find out more...

The romance of Trent Bridge, like most great romances in English history, began not in a flowery meadow or by a babbling brook. It began in a pub. William Clarke fell in love with the landlady of the Trent Bridge Inn – and a year after marrying her and moving in around 1837, he’d started hosting cricket matches in the field around the back.

Today, that field is one of the most famous and beautiful cricket grounds in the world. A place replete with magic moments in history, old-world character and all the love and attention-to-detail that goes into keeping both alive.

Whether you’re a pair of cricket-lovers or you simply want a unique and charming wedding venue for your special day that’s less cliché and more charm, we’d be simply delighted to help.

Up to 250 guests
The Old Vicarage is ideal for those wanting to holiday together and the house is certainly spacious enough to accommodate two or three families or groups of friends.

The combination of double, twin and single bedrooms make for flexible sleeping arrangements and the three bathrooms mean that it is often possible for each group to have their own separate facilities.

The communal rooms are spacious enough for people to be together - for instance everyone can fit around the dining table or sit around in the lounge - but there are also plenty of other quieter areas for people to find their own space.

Use of the adjoining leisure facilities means there are lots of activities on site to suit all ages and energy levels, from the large indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi to the fully-equipped gym, table tennis, table football and outdoor tennis courts. The grounds are excellent for sitting in with a book, enjoying a group barbeque, having a kick around with the kids or just quietly taking in the spectacular views. The private stretch of river that runs just below the house extends this natural 'playground' even further!

Islington Mill

1 James St,, M3 5HW, Salford, Greater Manchester
Up to 200 guests
Created in 2000, Islington Mill remains a work in progress; an ever-evolving creative space, arts hub and community. Scratch the surface and you’ll find a vibrant and resourceful cross disciplinary creative network; a space where conversations leads to connections, collaboration and co-creation.

Public arts programmes, residencies and galleries sit alongside rehearsal space. Music and visual arts mix with events and exhibitions. More than 50 businesses and 100 artists call the Mill home. Over the last 15 years we’ve supported more than 5000 artists from 35 countries. More than 15,000 people visit the building every year. Some stay for an evening, some make it their home for several years.

Islington Mill is a celebration of the unconventional; of radical and subversive thinking – it is a place where anything feels possible. Our flexibility and fluid structure is a catalyst for creativity, allowing artists, residents and tenants to challenge accepted notions of what arts and culture can do, and who can be involved. We treasure our independence to explore and to create; to live and work as freely and creatively as possible, fostering an openness to experiment.

The Mill was built on an ethos of experimentation, creativity and inclusivity that has evolved and clarified over time. More than just a physical venue, ours is an attitude and approach that unites people. The organic network we have forged here continues to evolve because of the actions of the people who get involved; our community.

We value collaboration – within the Mill, the local community, nationally and internationally – and we are an integral part of the area’s regeneration. Attracting and retaining talent is fundamental to what we do – supporting creative entrepreneurs and facilitating the potential and promise they bring. Our ethos of participation, community and open space makes us a vital ingredient in the urban regeneration mix, both in complementing what’s on offer and generating new possibilities.

The Mill sits between the University of Salford and Manchester city centre, straddling the two cities; simultaneously at the heart of Salford’s creative community and just a 10-minute walk down Chapel Street to Manchester city centre. Our studio spaces are situated across the upper floors of the main converted mill – an imposing red brick building constructed around a cobbled central courtyard.

We have a variety of atmospheric, industrial spaces around the complex, including our ground floor venue and gallery space – all are available for one-off events, photo shoots, rehearsals, exhibitions and filming – contact us for more info.
