We're looking to hire a band for our wedding evening reception on Saturday October 1st 2016. The venue is Oddfellows Hotel in Chester and would be looking to start at approx 8pm.
Please could you let us know if you're available as a two or three piece on that date, and quote if available.
The event is a Burns night and we will have a Black Tie/Kilt dinner with Piper followed by music and dancing - people prefer 60s/70s/80s music - ideally during breaks some music could be played.
Event starts early at 6.30pm and finishes at midnight.
Venue is Oaklands Hall
There will be about 100 people but we are on a budget as it is a charity raising event!
My name is Jo and i work for Home Retail Group (group owners of Homebase, Argos and Habitat) specifically Habitat. On the 26th May 2016 myself and a group of colleagues will be taking part in a 24 dance-a-thon in our biggest and main call centre. This will start at 10am on 26th May with us non stop dancing until 10am 27th May. This is all in aid to raise money for Macmillan cancer support We are reaching out to business local and further a field to see if anyone would like to offer any products or services,, with an overwhelming response so far! It is a Charity event at a church hall. First half of the evening their will be prize Bingo about 6/7 games and then we are wanting to go "Back to the 60's" with a singer, but music can be also from 50's and 70's.
If I can obtain a great quote I am getting married next year on 23rd July in Leicester so could also be looking for a singer for that.
If you're looking for a band who will transform a tent full of people having quiet drinks into a raging fury of dance laughter merriment and general good times then BLAG are the act you're looking for. We booked them for a green and event to raise money to fight greenbelt destruction nearby and they instantly communicated with everybody In the room (which ranged from early 20s to late 50s and 60s) the minute they started playing. A great repertoire of traditional favourites and interesting covers especially the doors' "people are strange" They're compact yet sound huge- and the great calling instructions had everybody laughing and smiling no matter how awful they were at dancing the Gay Gordon!. Sometimes this kind of ceilidh can be slow and boring when everybody doesn't really know what to do but the band made it all happen very quickly and very enjoyably . Did I mention they're nice guys as well?
