Their Single and Double Domes once built mesmerise not only with the beautiful exterior of clear sections, expansive entrances and the grand connecting tunnel but also the intricate internal structure that serves the Domes not only in practical strength but as it’s own natural artwork.


They can provide everything needed for any event including their own range of rustic handmade furniture that couldn’t look anymore at home in the Domes.


Their hand built and lovingly made timber framed domes come in 3 different configurations, allowing a tailored fit venue specific for your needs. Their designs are unlike any others currently available in the UK and guaranteed to awe inspire.


For the more intimate wedding or event, the timber framed single dome looks beautiful in any location, be it a misty valley, manor house grounds, middle of a field or a beach side setting. They like to keep things natural so have specifically designed their dome covers with a third of transparent triangles, allowing light to enter during the day and also look magical from the outside in the evening. The domes lend themselves to any theme or style, be it rustic, nautical or festival. These alternative wedding venues are sure to leave you with some great memories.


Being based on the North Devon coast, they have implemented an element of coastal charm into their Single Dome with the sail attachment. The original single dome structure, complimented by an elegant sweeping sail provides a stunning alternative. When organising an event in the UK, the weather often holds all the cards. With their unique sail attachment you are able to capture the best of the beautiful outdoors with the clear wall panels, whatever the elements throw at you.


With an extra 15 meters of cover, propped up with their huge, locally felled Douglas Fir Captain poles and smaller, rustic outer poles, the sail gives you the best of both an indoor and outdoor experience whilst adding enough room for an extra 80 people to dine. If the Single dome isn’t quite big enough but the Double looks too roomy, or you simply love the beautiful extended veranda feel that the sail provides, then this is your perfect solution.


If you’re looking for a truly unique alternative venue then look no further. Their Double Dome is the only one of its kind in the UK. Two domes connected by a clear canvas tunnel, this design is great for the larger wedding, working really well as one giant space and equally well as two divided spaces. We opened the house for wedding ceremonies and receptions in 2001 and have had the pleasure of working with many couples to create their ideal wedding day and have had some lovely testimonials.

We are really flexible in terms of our approach to receptions and have helped to arrange all types of wedding, from shabby chic, to hay-bale seating and more traditional weddings.​


​​We think it helps that three family members have been married at the house, so we also appreciate what it's like to arrange your own wedding at the house, as well as some of the challenges.


The Ceremony

We hold marriage ceremonies in the Great Hall, a beautiful space with plaster ceilings and a huge fireplace. It's a lovely location for the ceremony as you feel at the centre of the building's history. It is possible to seat up to a hundred people at the ceremony. You have 3 hours for the ceremony and drinks reception.


The Reception

There have been many memorable receptions at the house, with people enjoying the opportunity to have a relaxing 2 hour reception in the Great Hall and Morning Room and then out into the gardens for drinks or dinner. Many couples choose to have a marquee whilst others have risked the weather and had open air receptions - with umbrellas at the ready. If you decide to have a marquee, then you can host 200 or more, depending on the marquee you choose.


For smaller wedding parties (100-150) there is the option of having the reception in the Great Hall and adjoining rooms.
