Recent review: Many thanks to the Black Velvet Band Ceilidh Trio for a fantastic 21st Birthday Ceilidh. The band provided a perfect balance for the young and young-at-heart, catering for everyone from the super-lively, to wheelchair-friendly dances, which was a lovely touch. Everyone had a great time.

Recent review: This group is a group of impostors. There is a group out of Canada called Scatter the Mud who have two recordings out on the RCA label (including one with "As I Roved Out"). They should really attempt to use a name more original, like "Small Faces", or "Rolling Stones".

Recent review: "We hired the lads to play at an LGBT performance and clubnight celebrating Irish culture at an East London venue. They were very punctual, showing up on time for a professional soundcheck well in advance. They had a great attitude and were fantastic at getting the crowd going. They had no problem l

Recent review: I cannot rate Ceili Max more highly. All of the members of the band were helpful, enthusiastic and incredibly talented! They went above and beyond to make our evening special. All 150 people danced all evening and I put this entirely down to the energy generated by Ceili Max. We have already booked

Recent review: (Wedding Venue Garden wedding) ...The weather was perfect and she played outside for three hours while guests walked around the gardens and sat eating canepes. Her music finished the setting off and we had such great comments from our guests about how amazing her music was. J was very helpful and pr

We are planning a relaxed but fun party for up to 150 people in December. It is to be held at Carmarthen Golf Club. We want something fun that folk can join in with.

Hi, I work at EF Bristol Language School and I am looking to hire a band/solo artist one day during the summer. I am looking for something fun and lively, but also something that doesn't take up too much space. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Louise
Festival style wedding in Tipis on a farm
Wedding set in a traditional barn in North Wales for about 90 guests. We love saxophone and brass but wouldn't be able to fit more than a 5/6 piece band (we don't think!) in the space. Can you please inform availability and costs including DJ service, 2x60 min sets, PA and lighting, insurance, travel etc. Thanks!
We are a 30 yr old couple getting married at a private house on a cider farm in Gloucestershire in a lovely marquee on Saturday April 30th. Looking for a set of indie rock and some pop, relaxed first half, upbeat second half. Thinking of wedding dance song like Beach Boys 'god only knows.' Closest train station is Lydney. Easy detour from. Do you have an available set list? Best wishes
We are currently on the hunt for a ceilidh band for our wedding on 10th Feb 2018, at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham. There will be roughly 100 people in a medium sized room and we would probably be looking for a Scottish ceilidh of around 2 hours with a caller. My partner and I have been to a few in the past and can’t think of any better way to get people up, and moving about - so any extra information that you can give us would be great. There are a few questions that we have (admittedly some of them may seem bit obvious from the information on the website, but please bear with me!): 1) - Does that date work for you? 2) - Are you able to provide set that is predominantly classic Scottish dance, along with a caller? 3) - What line up/price options do you have? 4) - Would you supply your own PA (if so, is it PAT tested), or would we need to source one?
If you're looking for a band who will transform a tent full of people having quiet drinks into a raging fury of dance laughter merriment and general good times then BLAG are the act you're looking for. We booked them for a green and event to raise money to fight greenbelt destruction nearby and they instantly communicated with everybody In the room (which ranged from early 20s to late 50s and 60s) the minute they started playing. A great repertoire of traditional favourites and interesting covers especially the doors' "people are strange" They're compact yet sound huge- and the great calling instructions had everybody laughing and smiling no matter how awful they were at dancing the Gay Gordon!. Sometimes this kind of ceilidh can be slow and boring when everybody doesn't really know what to do but the band made it all happen very quickly and very enjoyably . Did I mention they're nice guys as well?
Words cannot describe how pleased we are about the exceptional entertainment provided by Dave, Mike and Gerry at our wedding in Durham. Their fantastic repertoire truly added a special and unique touch to our evening, and provided many of our guests from all corners the world a wonderful introduction to British folk music. Not to mention how patient and friendly their caller Dave was especially in teaching the dances to our guests, many of whom had never danced a Ceilidh before. In addition, their cheerfulness and easygoing disposition really helped us and our guests have a marvellous time. To this day, our guests still constantly praise the ceilidh music provided during the evening. Thank you so much and we would recommend them over and over again to anyone seeking quality entertainment for any event." Thank you ever so much once again - you truly made it a night to remember for us. Best Wishes Mr Markus Kahl and Mrs Yun Long-Kahl
Dear Kellys Heroes, Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. You were brilliant and so patient with us! So many of our guests have remarked how much they loved it- from the 20 year olds to the 70 year olds, all loved it and joined in, which is exactly what we wanted. Even the hip-hop fans who normally grumble at anything else were up having a whale of a time. We appreciated you expertise and advice and would recommend you to others. We hope you enjoyed playing and we're sorry the rugby score was not better!
