This year has certainly been a rollercoaster of change, especially with regards to the events industry. Poptop<\/a> conducted research with over 150 every day event planners from all over the UK to find out exactly how COVID-19 has affected their events, and how they feel about the future. These are the results that we found. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Has COVID-19 Affected Our Events?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2705 Over 90% of events have been affected by COVID-19 and the majority of these events planned were weddings, which is closely followed by birthday parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\u2705 There is some positive news, with over 50% of events have been rescheduled and nearly 20% of events still went ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\u2705 Of the events that have been rescheduled, over half of them have already been rearranged for a new date!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

How Do We Feel About Events Now?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2705 Nearly three quarters of event planners feel comfortable enough to attend and host outdoor<\/em> events within the government guidelines, but only 41% of planners feel comfortable attending and hosting indoor <\/em>events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2705 Our research showed that opinions are split when it comes to changes in Government advice, with 45% of people feeling comfortable attending a large event of 100+ people straight away if the Government allowed it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\u2705 With regards to large events, most event planners are happy to attend sooner than May 2021, but nearly a third are still looking to wait until the summer of 2021.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

How Concerned Are We About COVID-19 at Events?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2705 Unsurprisingly, with regards to COVID-19, event planners are now 80% more concerned with Health & Safety at events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2705 The biggest concerns are issues of social distancing, the risk of spreading COVID-19 and mixing in large groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\u2705 Interestingly, we found that some event planners are also concerned with the adverse effects on enjoyment that the restrictions may pose. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
